Autism Awareness Day

2nd April 2026

Today is .

Hospital visits can be especially challenging for neurodiverse patients, that’s why have introduced sensory bags to our wards. It’s a simple way to help improve comfort and overall experience.

The sensory bags include:

  • Noise cancelling headphones
  • Fidget toys
  • Tools to help patients express how they’re feeling

If you feel you or a loved one would benefit from accessing a sensory bag whilst at hospital, speak to a member of the ward staff. Together, we’re creating a more inclusive and supportive hospital for everyone.

Our staff at Salisbury District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of ¿´Æ¬Èí¼þ Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
