There is no right or wrong way to grieve and each parent has the right to cope with the situation in their own way. There are many people that can help, including your friends, family, GP or midwife, as well as many organisations and online communities who can help.

Chaplaincy Service
The Chaplaincy Team at Salisbury Hospital are here to support you and your family in any way you need, if your baby has died. You are welcome to use the Chapel located on Level 3 of the main hospital, next to the pharmacy. Alternatively, our midwives can contact the duty chaplain to arrange for them to come and see you whilst you are in the hospital.
Our chaplains are here for everyone, whatever your beliefs may be; their care can be religious or non-religious, according to your personal preferences. The chaplain will listen and explore with you whatever you need to discuss, whether practical or pastoral, and can also help arrange ceremonies such as funerals.

Follow Up Support
Our team will liaise with the community midwives and other maternity teams, GP’s and health visitor’s to ensure that they have been informed of the death and can offer their support to you. You will be offered home visits or phone calls by the Community Midwives and Bereavement Midwife to suit your individual needs.

Waterbugs and Dragonflies - Baby loss support group
This relaxed and informal group is led by staff from Salisbury District Hospital. A warm welcome for any parents following the loss of a baby during pregnancy or after birth.Ìý
Join us at Sarum College, 19 The Close, Salisbury, SP1 2EE on the third Tuesday of each month, 7-8:30pm.
