A has been issued for the bank holiday weekend across neighbouring regions, and we鈥檙e encouraging everyone in our community to take simple steps to stay safe. As the UKHSA notes, 鈥渁nyone can become unwell when the weather is hot鈥�, but older people, young children, and those with long鈥憈erm conditions are at higher risk. Keeping cool indoors, drinking plenty of fluids, and avoiding the hottest part of the day can make a real difference.
If you鈥檙e heading out, remember to stay in the shade where possible, use SPF 30+ sunscreen with UVA protection, and look out for signs of heat exhaustion such as dizziness, weakness or intense thirst. The toolkit also reminds us that 鈥渢emperatures indoors can be higher than temperatures outdoors鈥�, so please check in on neighbours, friends or relatives who may struggle to keep cool.
